It’s that time of year. The end of one and a brand new year coming.

A time for New Year’s Resolutions. A call to action. A call for change.

It’s during this time of year that I talk to many people, many of which contract our company to build their first website ever.

Their dream.

What I always find interesting is that many of the people starting out today have had their idea for their online foray for quite some time. Some for several years. But have simply just never acted on their dream. Their idea. Their passion. Their future.

For a small percentage, it’s time or financial constraints that have kept them from moving forward on their goals. But for most, it comes down to one simple human emotion. FEAR.

Fear of failure. Fear of success. Fear of the unknown. Fear, Fear, Fear.

Some valid fears. Some not. Unimportant in my book. Failure is part of life. And nothing to fear. Sometimes a little failure can be a strong lesson leading to huge success. The flip side is absurd. Fear of success is a self esteem issue, and all I can say about that is, GET OVER IT.

Life is short. Our time on this planet is limited. The clock will continue to tick away, whether you do anything with the time or not. Your dreams will die with you if you never act on them. I’ve never heard of a single person on their deathbed spouting that they wished they’d never followed their dreams as their last words. Quite the contrary.

So this year, make your resolution to move on your dreams. Then take action. NOW. Not tomorrow. Not the next day. Not next week. Do it RIGHT NOW.

Yesterday is gone and tomorrow is not promised. Today is all we have, and it’s a gift. That’s why we call it the ‘present’.
